Wheeling, WV – A Pennsylvania man with a history of robbery convictions was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in federal prison for robbing a bank in Wheeling, prosecutors announced.

Frank L. Morrison, 59, of Braddock Hills, Pennsylvania, received a 120-month prison sentence for the September 2018 robbery of United Bank in the Elm Grove neighborhood.

According to court documents, Morrison entered the bank wearing a mask, took $4,200 in cash, and fled on foot. Investigators later recovered the discarded mask and other items from a nearby dumpster. DNA evidence from the mask linked Morrison to the crime.

Morrison has a lengthy criminal record, including prior convictions for armed bank robbery, robbery, and access device fraud.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Clayton Reid and Carly Nogay. The FBI, West Virginia State Police, and Wheeling Police Department handled the investigation.
