LANCASTER, PA – First responders from across Lancaster County are gearing up for the return of the Battle of the Badges hockey game, a friendly showdown between police and firefighters that benefits local charities.
The event, hosted by the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, will be held Saturday, October 11, at the Lancaster Ice Rink on Carrera Drive, with puck-drop set for 2:15 p.m. Thirty-eight players representing 21 police and fire agencies will take the ice in what has become a spirited annual tradition.

This year’s game will support The Yard Foundation, which aids community programs and youth initiatives. Last year’s matchup raised nearly $7,800 for the Lancaster County Children’s Alliance Center. The day will include an Honor Guard presentation, a “Touch-a-Truck” event for kids, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and concessions, with all proceeds going directly to charity.
