Missing Persons Reports

Philadelphia police searching for missing woman last seen Saturday night in Mount Airy

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 23-year-old Kada Scott, who vanished Saturday night after leaving her home on the 8300 block of Rodney Street.

Scott, described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with a thin build, brown eyes, and black hair, was last seen at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Her disappearance is now considered troubling by investigators, who say Scott had told family and friends she was being harassed in the days leading up to when she went missing.

Family says silence is out of character

At a Wednesday press conference, Captain John Craig said Scott’s lack of communication is “completely out of character” for the young woman, who was described as energetic, responsible, and close with her family.

Scott’s mother told police she last saw her daughter on Saturday night as she left for work at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living facility where she had recently begun working. When she failed to return home or answer calls, relatives reported her missing.

Detectives investigating possible harassment reports

Authorities confirmed they are reviewing messages and communications that may support Scott’s claims of being harassed. Detectives from the Northwest Division are handling the investigation and continue to canvass the area and interview acquaintances.

Police urge public assistance

Anyone with information about Scott’s whereabouts is urged to contact Northwest Detectives at 215-686-3353.

As the search enters its fifth day, police say time and awareness are critical. “We’re asking anyone who may have seen Kada or knows something to come forward,” Craig said. “Her family deserves answers.”
