Police Investigating Shooting in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Just hours before a fatal shooting inside a West Philadelphia home, police began investigating another early morning shooting that left a man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

At approximately 3:08 a.m. Saturday, a 39-year-old man arrived at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center suffering from gunshot injuries to his groin and left thigh.

Investigators said the location and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

Police investigating separate shooting hours before fatal incident

The incident occurred roughly two hours before officers responded to a deadly shooting on the 1100 block of South 54th Street, where another man was fatally shot inside a residence. Police have not indicated any connection between the two cases.

Investigators searching for scene and motive

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and area hospital reports to identify where the earlier shooting occurred. Officials said no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
