PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A 37-year-old woman who repeatedly skipped court appearances is back behind bars and now facing additional felony charges after deputies say she resisted arrest inside a Southside residence Tuesday night.
Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that Bailey Loveday, of Jefferson Hills, was taken into custody after detectives entered a home through an open window and found her hiding inside.
Loveday was wanted on a bond forfeiture bench warrant issued after she failed to appear in court twice this month on burglary and theft charges.

Original burglary case dates back to 2023
Loveday was first charged in August after Jefferson Hills Police linked her DNA to a 2023 residential burglary. She was arraigned on felony burglary, theft, and trespass charges and initially released on non-monetary bail. After missing a preliminary hearing on October 8, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
Detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office tracked her to a Sheetz on Route 51 in Pleasant Hills the same day. During that arrest, officials said she resisted and had access to several knives before being taken into custody. She was later released with a new hearing date set for October 15.
Second failure to appear leads to new warrant
When Loveday again failed to appear for her October 15 court date, a hearing was held in her absence and all charges were bound over for trial. A second bench warrant was issued six days later after she forfeited bond.
Detectives locate and arrest Loveday
This week, investigators learned Loveday was staying inside a home on the Southside. When detectives arrived Tuesday night, she refused to open the door. Deputies gained entry through an open window, located Loveday, and after a brief struggle, took her into custody.
Additional felony charges filed
Loveday has been booked into the Allegheny County Jail on the outstanding warrant and now faces new felony counts of default in appearance and flight to avoid apprehension, along with a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. She remains in custody pending her next court appearance.
