Plattsburgh man charged with murder after wife found shot to death in Chazy

CHAZY, N.Y. – A North Country man has been charged with murder after police say he fatally shot his wife and left her body miles away from the scene of the killing.

According to New York State Police, Keith A. Henry, 33, of Plattsburgh, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child following the death of his wife, Chloe S. Henry, 25, of Mooers.

Investigators said Chloe Henry was reported missing Sunday after she was last seen with her husband in Plattsburgh.

Key Points

  • Chloe Henry, 25, was found shot to death on Ridge Road in Chazy.
  • Her husband, Keith Henry, 33, is charged with second-degree murder and child endangerment.
  • Police allege Henry shot his wife in his car before dumping her body 26 miles away.

Body found two days after disappearance

Family members reported Chloe missing after she had not been heard from in more than a day and a half — something relatives described as “highly unusual.” Two days later, troopers discovered her body along Ridge Road in Chazy, near the Lake Alice Wildlife Management Area.

Autopsy confirms homicide

An autopsy performed at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica determined that Chloe Henry died from gunshot wounds to the head and back. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Police: husband shot wife in vehicle

State Police said the investigation revealed that Keith Henry shot his wife inside his vehicle near Bear Swamp Road and Ausable Point in the town of Peru, approximately 26 miles from where her body was found. Officials have not released a potential motive.

Suspect held without bail

Keith Henry was arraigned Tuesday in Peru Town Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail without bail. The case is being investigated by the New York State Police, the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office, and multiple local law enforcement agencies.
