LAUREL, MD – A man was killed early Friday morning after his motorcycle veered off Route 216 and crashed, according to Howard County police.
The collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. when a 2012 Honda CBR600RR traveling westbound left the roadway near Crest Road.
The operator, identified only as an adult male, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police investigating cause of crash

Route 216 closed during investigation
Route 216 was temporarily closed in both directions between Crest Road and Leishear Road for several hours as crash reconstruction teams processed the scene and cleared debris. Traffic was reopened later in the morning.
