CHERRY HILL, NJ – A Cherry Hill man was arrested after allegedly attempting to meet what he believed was a 14-year-old boy for sex, officials announced.
Nimrod Lasman, 62, is charged with second-degree attempted child luring and second-degree attempted sexual assault.
Authorities say Lasman began communicating through a chat application with someone he thought was a teenager on October 27.

Undercover sting leads to arrest
Officials said the conversation between Lasman and the undercover detective turned explicit, leading Lasman to arrange an in-person meeting. Detectives took him into custody when he arrived at Cooper River Dog Park in Cherry Hill, where he expected to meet the boy.
Charges and detention
Following his arrest, Lasman was charged and transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing. The charges include attempted child luring and attempted sexual assault, both second-degree crimes under New Jersey law.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit led the operation with help from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Cherry Hill Police Department. Officials said the coordinated effort ensured the arrest was made safely.
