Stafford man arrested for DUI with suspended license and open alcohol

Stafford, VA – A 25-year-old driver was arrested early Thursday morning after he was caught speeding with an open alcohol container and a suspended license from a prior DUI, deputies reported.

Deputy D.S. Jett pulled over a speeding vehicle around 3:22 a.m. near Richmond Highway and Hope Road. The driver, identified as Lino Saldana Rodriguez of Stafford, was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license, which had been suspended due to a DUI earlier in the year.

Investigators noted Rodriguez was required to drive with an ignition interlock system, which was not installed in the vehicle. An open bottle of alcohol was also visible in the car. Rodriguez was taken into custody at the end of the DUI investigation.

He was charged with driving under the influence (second offense within five years), driving with a suspended license related to DUI, operating a vehicle without ignition interlock, and reckless driving by speed. Rodriguez is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
