Bronx man arrested in bartow avenue stabbing; police seek four others

BRONX, NY – A 20-year-old Bronx man has been arrested in connection with a violent stabbing that left a 26-year-old victim hospitalized earlier this month, police said.

The arrest follows a two-week investigation into the November 1 attack that took place in front of 2138 Bartow Avenue.

Authorities are now asking for the public’s help in identifying four additional suspects who remain at large.

Arrest made following ongoing investigation

Police arrested Sahid Mboob, 20, of 2786 Bainbridge Avenue, on Saturday at 9:40 a.m. within the 45th Precinct. Mboob faces charges including attempted murder, two counts of assault, and gang assault. Authorities confirmed the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation tied to the earlier Bartow Avenue incident.

Victim attacked by group of suspects

According to investigators, on November 1 at approximately 6:35 p.m., the 26-year-old victim was confronted by four unidentified individuals outside 2138 Bartow Avenue. A verbal argument escalated when one suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen and back, while the others punched and kicked him repeatedly.

Victim recovering as search continues

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and urge anyone with information about the remaining suspects to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
