Stafford County thief strikes fast and disappears

Copper and leaf blower stolen in daylight larceny on Cambridge Street

STAFFORD, VA — A residential property on Cambridge Street became the scene of a daytime theft Tuesday when copper materials and a leaf blower were reported stolen by an unknown suspect.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy C. A. Sharp responded to the 600 block of Cambridge Street at approximately 11:53 a.m. after the victim reported missing items from the property. The stolen materials included copper — often targeted for its resale value — and a leaf blower.

Authorities have not released suspect information, and it remains unclear if the property was under surveillance at the time of the theft. No forced entry was reported, and investigators are working to determine whether the larceny occurred earlier in the day or overnight.

Deputies are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
