WARETOWN, N.J. – Ocean County authorities have detained Shanne C. Provine without bail following his November 21 arrest on multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to court documents, Provine faces two separate case files that include first- and second-degree offenses, with all charges listed as open and carrying no bail eligibility at this time.
Serious charges under multiple state statutes
Records show Provine is charged under N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2A(1) with aggravated sexual assault involving a victim under 13, a first-degree crime. Additional counts include sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and multiple charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
Investigators also charged Provine under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4B(5) for allegedly photographing or selling images that exploit minors. Each of the listed offenses is graded as a first- or second-degree felony under New Jersey law.
Investigation ongoing under county prosecutor’s office
Authorities have not released details regarding the number of victims or the circumstances of the alleged incidents. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the case, with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement.
Provine, who is listed as divorced and continuing work toward a GED, has no known aliases or detainers on record.
