Hunterdon County ticket hits $161K Jersey Cash 5 jackpot in weekend drawing
Flemington, NJ — A quiet Saturday in Hunterdon County turned into a six-figure windfall for one lucky New Jersey Lottery player who matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing, securing a $161,650 jackpot — the 64th time the top prize has been claimed this year.
The winning ticket was sold at Higgins News Agency, a small storefront on Main Street in downtown Flemington, where the anonymous player matched the numbers 05, 06, 12, 16, and 28. The Bullseye number was 06, while the XTRA multiplier was 02. As a reward for selling the winning ticket, Higgins News Agency will receive a $2,000 bonus from the New Jersey Lottery.
While one player took home the big prize, 27 others matched four of the five numbers and the Bullseye to claim $500 each. Of those, nine players opted into the XTRA feature and saw their winnings double to $1,000.
The win marks another notch in the belt for the Jersey Cash 5 daily game, which has now seen more than five dozen top prize winners since January. The jackpot for Sunday night’s drawing has been reset to $160,000.
The New Jersey Lottery has not disclosed the identity of the winner and encourages all players to sign the back of their tickets and check them carefully.
