One dead, one injured in East Madison Street shooting as homicide investigation begins

Baltimore, MD – A deadly shooting Friday night left one man dead and another critically injured after gunfire broke out in the city’s Central District, according to police.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1400 block of East Madison Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two men — a 57-year-old and a 34-year-old — both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. The 34-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The 57-year-old victim remains in critical but stable condition.

Baltimore Police homicide detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating the incident. No arrests have been announced, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released.
