BRONX, N.Y. – New York City recorded its first murder of the new year early Thursday morning after a 55-year-old man was found shot to death near the Cross Bronx Expressway.
Police said officers responded to a 911 call at about 6:54 a.m. reporting a man shot in the vicinity of Morris Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway, within the 46th Precinct. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim, identified as Issa Mbolo-Isac of Clarence Avenue, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced Mbolo-Isac dead at the scene. No arrests have been made, and detectives from the 46th Precinct are investigating the shooting.
Authorities have not released any information on a possible motive or suspect.
