Jackson Fire District No. 2 reports record growth, expands to 24-hour fire and EMS coverage

Jackson Township, NJ – Jackson Fire District No. 2 marked a year of historic growth and expansion in 2025, responding to more calls than ever before and launching around-the-clock operations for both fire and emergency medical response.

According to a year-end report released by district officials, firefighters across the district handled 1,575 calls for service in 2025 — a 13% increase over the previous year. The Cassville Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 responded to 540 calls, while the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department handled 468. The district’s career firefighters responded to 916 calls, including 338 EMS first responder incidents.

In a major operational milestone, Jackson’s career firefighters began 24/7/365 coverage on July 13, marking the first time in township history that fire response has been staffed continuously around the clock. On December 1, EMS first responder coverage was also expanded to full 24-hour service.

District officials said the department also modernized its operations through a partnership with Jackson Fire District No. 3, joining the First Due Fire and EMS software platform on November 1. The system integrates reporting, inventory, maintenance, and response management to improve coordination and efficiency across agencies.

Residents will have the opportunity to vote on continued funding for the township’s fire districts on February 21, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The district encouraged community participation to support sustained growth and service improvements.

“We look forward to serving the residents and visitors of Jackson Township in 2026,” district officials said in a statement.
