HENDERSONVILLE, NC – Henderson County remains under a State of Emergency as an Ice Storm Warning continues through 1:00 PM Monday, January 26. Due to the hazardous conditions and widespread power outages, all non-emergency local government offices, including Solid Waste, Animal Services, and the Henderson County Public Library, will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
A non-emergency call center is available at 828-435-2030 for residents needing assistance.
An emergency shelter, located at the Athletics and Activities Center (708 South Grove Street, Hendersonville), is open and pet friendly.
Officials report that many roads remain ice-covered and dangerous, urging residents to stay off the roads to allow NC DOT, Duke Energy, and Emergency Services to respond effectively.
Forecasts predict overnight lows near 19°F Sunday, a high of 28°F Monday, and further re-freezing and wind chills below zero by Monday night.
