Attempted rape arrest after chase in Glen Burnie parking area
Glen Burnie, MD – A routine stop to take out the trash turned into a frightening chase late Thursday night when a woman was attacked inside her vehicle, escaped, and helped lead officers to a suspect who was later found hiding behind a dumpster.
The incident unfolded around 8:45 p.m. near Whitmore Court and Loyd Lane. Investigators said the adult female victim was seated in her vehicle near a dumpster when an unknown man approached and began sexually assaulting her. The suspect then attempted to pull her from her vehicle and force her into his own.
Police said the victim screamed for help and managed to drive away, but noticed the suspect following her in another vehicle. A description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast to officers in the area, who soon located a matching vehicle behind a nearby Lowe’s store.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to immediately comply and traveled a short distance onto Juneberry Way before becoming stuck in a snow embankment. The suspect then fled on foot before being located hiding behind a dumpster, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Allen Michael McFadden, 34, of Baltimore. Witnesses in the area were interviewed, and detectives said the investigation remains ongoing.
