MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ – Detective Taj Lumanog has been named the Monroe Township Police Department’s Officer of the Month for January 2026, earning the recognition for his exceptional investigative work that led to the seizure of multiple firearms and narcotics during a recent drug probe.

Detective Lumanog, a member of the department’s Special Investigations Unit, was nominated by his supervisors for his “outstanding performance” and dedication throughout the month. According to police, his meticulous investigative work uncovered a narcotics operation centered in and around Williamstown, culminating in a court-approved search warrant and a significant seizure.

When the warrant was executed, officers recovered four firearms — including one confirmed stolen out of Philadelphia — along with controlled dangerous substances and cash believed to be connected to the illegal drug trade.
