Outage halts district operations
District officials announced early Wednesday morning that schools would be closed for the day after attempts to open on a delayed schedule failed. The outage, which originated in the Wall Township area, affected essential systems across the district, including communications and student record access.
“Unfortunately, this issue could not be resolved in time for our delayed opening,” the district said in a public update. “We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we deal with this problem that is outside of our control.”
Calendar changes to recover lost days
Following closures Monday and Tuesday due to the snowstorm, the district will now make up missed instructional time later in the year. Schools will be open on Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3, both operating on a shortened day schedule.
Additionally, the last day of school is now scheduled for Friday, June 26, also on a shortened day schedule.
The district said it remains hopeful that no further closures will impact the academic calendar as staff continue cleanup and recovery efforts from the storm.
