$150K drug ring takedown as duo caught with massive cocaine stash in NJ bust

Massive cocaine haul uncovered during multi-agency Jersey bust

OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. — A sweeping multi-agency drug investigation ended with two suspects in custody after detectives uncovered a large cocaine stash and seized six figures in suspected criminal proceeds.

Authorities say the two-month probe identified Joshua Hunter, 53, of South Toms River, and Mary Copestick, 41, of Clementon, as operating out of residences in Trenton and Clementon to store and distribute cocaine.

The investigation culminated on February 26 when detectives stopped a vehicle driven by Copestick with Hunter as a passenger.

As they were removed from the vehicle, investigators spotted roughly 360 grams of cocaine in plain view.

Search warrants were then executed at both residences, where authorities seized approximately $150,000 believed to be tied to drug activity.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession of large quantities of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy, and drug paraphernalia violations.

They were transported to the Ocean County Jail and later released under New Jersey bail reform guidelines.
