Midday attack on 45-year-old woman raises concern after similar incident hours earlier

New York, NY – A second forcible touching incident inside the Grand Central–42 Street subway station is under investigation, after a woman was assaulted in broad daylight Saturday. The case comes less than a day after a similar reported attack in the same transit hub.

Police say a 45-year-old woman was standing on the mezzanine level at approximately 12:45 p.m. when she was approached by an unidentified man. The suspect allegedly placed his face against the victim’s face and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing the station on foot.

Second incident reported within 24 hours

“On Saturday, March 21, 2026, at approximately 12:45 P.M., a 45-year-old female victim was standing in the mezzanine level of the Grand Central subway station when she was approached by an unidentified male individual,” NYPD Crimestoppers stated. “The individual proceeded to place his face against the victim’s face and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing on foot to parts unknown.”

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a description of the suspect.
