NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New York City Police Department is seeking a suspect accused of forcibly stealing jewelry from a woman at the 42 Street subway station in Manhattan, according to NYPD Crimestoppers.

The incident occurred Tuesday, March 10, at approximately 6:25 p.m. on the southbound A train platform within the Transit District covering Midtown. Police said a 55-year-old female victim was standing on the platform when an unidentified individual approached her and suddenly grabbed two necklaces from her neck.

Suspect fled station after theft

According to the NYPD, the suspect immediately fled the subway station on foot after the theft. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released a description of the individual.

The victim was not reported to have sustained physical injuries during the incident. The value of the stolen property has not been disclosed.
