Council signs off on series of permits for events at Windward Beach and along Route 35
Brick Township, NJ — A series of community events scheduled throughout spring and summer 2026 received approval from Brick Township officials, including a car show, charity walk, concerts, and school celebrations.
The Township Council approved multiple special event permits during its April 14 meeting, allowing organizations and residents to host gatherings at locations such as Windward Beach and Brick Beach III.
Wide range of events approved
Among the largest events, the Laurelton Fire Company No. 1 was granted approval to host a car show on September 13, with a rain date of September 20 at Windward Beach.
The National MS Society also received approval for its “Bike MS: Coast the Coast” event on May 9, which will take place along Route 35 bike lanes with a designated rest stop at Brick Beach II.
Other approved events include:
- A “Steps for Hope” 5K and 2-mile walk on April 18
- A series of “silent” piano concerts hosted by the MindTravel Foundation from May through August at Brick Beach III
- Multiple preschool and Pre-K ceremonies in June at Windward Beach
Safety and logistics requirements in place
Each event must comply with township regulations, including maintaining open fire lanes, coordinating traffic as needed, and meeting sanitation and accessibility standards.
Organizers are also required to provide adequate restroom facilities, ensure proper placement of signage, and follow environmental guidelines such as preventing the release of balloons.
Some events require on-site EMS coverage or township maintenance staff, depending on size and location.
