Man walks into hospital with gunshot wound after midnight shooting in West Baltimore
Baltimore, MD – A shooting in West Baltimore sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries early Tuesday, after officers initially found no victim at the reported scene.
Police responded around 12:28 a.m. to the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue for reports of gunfire, according to a media advisory from the Baltimore Police Department.
When officers arrived, they were unable to locate anyone injured at the scene.
Shortly after, police were called to a nearby hospital where a 47-year-old man had walked in seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. Officers responded and confirmed the man was suffering from serious injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting is connected to the earlier call on Edmondson Avenue.
Detectives from the Western District shooting unit have taken over the case and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No suspect information has been released.
