WakeMed Officer Accused of Kidnapping Woman, Holding Her at Gunpoint in Wilson County

Wilson, NC — A WakeMed security officer and former Wilson County deputy faces multiple criminal charges after investigators alleged he kidnapped a woman, held her at gunpoint, assaulted her, and prevented her from contacting emergency responders during a violent domestic incident.

Jeremy Lee Bohne, 39, of Wilson, was arrested May 29 and charged with felony second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, interfering with emergency communication, two counts of assault on a female, and two counts of misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, according to arrest warrants filed by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.

The allegations describe a series of events that investigators say terrorized the victim and escalated into multiple acts of violence inside and outside a residence.

Investigators Allege Victim Was Restrained and Threatened

Court records allege Bohne unlawfully confined, restrained, and moved a woman without her consent for the purpose of terrorizing her, forming the basis of the felony kidnapping charge.

Investigators further claim Bohne grabbed the victim by her arm and collar and pointed a black-and-cream-colored long rifle at her during the encounter.

According to the warrants, Bohne also allegedly used a box cutter to cut the victim’s shirt and bra during the incident.

The alleged offenses occurred on May 29, 2026, according to court documents.

Cellphone Allegedly Taken to Prevent 911 Call

Authorities allege Bohne took the victim’s cellphone to prevent her from calling 911 after the assault.

The interference with emergency communication charge stems from allegations that the victim was intentionally prevented from seeking help during the incident.

Court records further allege Bohne held the woman at gunpoint and later attempted to pull her back into a residence. Investigators say the victim fell to the ground during that struggle.

The warrants outline multiple allegations of physical violence, leading to the additional assault and domestic violence-related charges.

Former Deputy Now Works for WakeMed

The charges mark a significant development for a law enforcement veteran who recently transitioned into a security role with one of North Carolina’s largest healthcare systems.

Neither the arrest warrants nor the court documents released with the charges indicate whether the alleged incident had any connection to Bohne’s current employment.

Serious Charges Carry Significant Consequences

Second-degree kidnapping is a felony offense under North Carolina law and can carry substantial penalties upon conviction.

The remaining charges include allegations involving a firearm, domestic violence, physical assault, and interference with emergency communications, all of which can increase the seriousness of a criminal case.

The arrest warrants provide investigators’ allegations and the basis for the charges but do not constitute findings of guilt.

As criminal proceedings move forward, prosecutors will be required to prove the allegations in court.
