Domestic-related gunfire leaves one dead on North Main Street as police launch urgent search

MANHEIM BOROUGH, Pa. — A quiet Lancaster County borough was shaken early Friday morning when gunfire broke out on a residential street, leaving one person dead and a suspect fleeing the scene in a vehicle as investigators launched a widening search.

Officers were called at approximately 7:31 a.m. to the first block of North Main Street in Manheim Borough after reports of a shooting, according to local police. When officers arrived, they found one victim suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the shooting appears to have stemmed from a domestic-related incident, though the exact circumstances leading up to the violence remain under investigation.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the shooting and remains at large. Officials have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle as the investigation continues.

The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Lancaster County Detectives are assisting Manheim Borough Police in the active investigation, which remains ongoing as officers gather evidence and speak with potential witnesses in the area.
