A 34-year-old Northwest DC resident was pronounced dead after officers responded to reports of gunfire in Southeast D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was found fatally shot in Southeast DC early Sunday, marking another homicide under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the 2700 block of Langston Place Southeast after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was unconscious and not breathing.
D.C. Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
Authorities identified the victim as Travonn Davis, 34, of Northwest Washington.
Investigators have not announced any arrests or released information about a possible suspect.
The Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide unit continues to investigate the shooting.
