Police say two suspects approached a man on a Northwest DC street, struck up a conversation and then one of them pulled a gun and opened fire.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man is fighting for his life after being shot multiple times by one of two suspects who approached him and began talking to him on a Northwest DC street, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The shooting happened at about 11:01 p.m. Saturday in the 7000 block of Blair Road, Northwest.
Fourth District officers responded to the area and found an adult male conscious and breathing but suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators said two suspects approached the victim and engaged him in conversation. During the encounter, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.
DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspects and their getaway vehicle were captured by a nearby security camera. The Metropolitan Police Department released photos and video in an effort to identify those involved.
No arrests have been announced.
