Tredyffrin Township, PA — Police are investigating a burglary at the home of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley after intruders entered the residence early Saturday morning while the NFL star and his family were not home.
According to the Tredyffrin Township Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:10 a.m. to a residence in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township for a report of a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the area.
Barkley family was away during break-in
Police confirmed the residence belongs to Barkley and that neither he nor his family was home at the time of the burglary.
“We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident,” the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement released Saturday.
Investigators also said they have not received reports of similar criminal activity in the surrounding area.
Detectives seek help identifying vehicle
The Tredyffrin Township Police Department released a photograph of a white SUV that detectives believe may be connected to the burglary. Authorities have not identified the occupants of the vehicle or said whether anything was stolen from the home.
The investigation is being led by the Tredyffrin Township Police Department’s Detective Division with assistance from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
Officials are asking residents to review home security camera footage from around 5 a.m. Saturday for any suspicious activity that could help identify those responsible.
