NEW YORK, N.Y. – Two suspects armed with a knife attacked and robbed a 23-year-old man on a Manhattan subway platform Friday afternoon, stealing a wallet containing approximately $200, according to the NYPD.

The robbery occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the West 137th Street subway station. Police said the victim was standing on the southbound platform for the No. 1 train when two unidentified individuals approached him.

The suspects displayed a knife before punching and kicking the victim about his body, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. One of the suspects then forcibly took the man’s wallet before both fled the station on foot.

Man Attacked on Southbound No. 1 Train Platform

The victim was waiting on the southbound platform when the two suspects approached, according to the NYPD Crime Stoppers alert.

“The individuals displayed a knife and proceeded to punch and kick the victim about the body,” NYPD Crime Stoppers said.

During the attack, one of the suspects allegedly removed the victim’s wallet by force. Police said approximately $200 was inside.

The two suspects then ran from the subway station and fled to an unknown location.

The victim sustained what police described as minor injuries. He refused medical attention following the attack.

NYPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Robbery Suspects

NYPD Crime Stoppers issued a public alert Saturday seeking information about the two unidentified individuals wanted in connection with the robbery.

Police have not announced an arrest, and the Crime Stoppers notice did not provide additional information about the suspects.
