NEW YORK, N.Y. – The New York City Police Department is asking the public to help identify a suspect accused of attacking a 70-year-old man from behind on East Broadway in Manhattan.
The assault occurred at approximately 9:27 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, in front of 240 East Broadway within the NYPD’s 7th Precinct, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers.
Police said the unidentified man approached the victim from behind, tripped him and then pushed him to the ground. The suspect fled on foot heading eastbound on East Broadway.

70-Year-Old Man Attacked From Behind on East Broadway
Investigators said the victim was standing in front of the East Broadway address when the unidentified man approached him from behind.
The suspect tripped the 70-year-old and pushed him to the ground, according to the NYPD’s wanted alert.
Police did not disclose in the alert whether the victim required hospitalization or provide additional information about his condition following the attack.
The NYPD also did not identify a possible motive or describe any interaction between the victim and suspect before the assault.
Suspect Fled East on East Broadway
After knocking the man to the ground, the suspect fled the area on foot and was last seen traveling eastbound on East Broadway, police said.
Investigators are now relying on the public for assistance identifying the individual. The incident occurred within the 7th Precinct, which covers portions of Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
