NEW YORK, N.Y. – The NYPD is asking the public to help identify a suspect accused of stabbing a man in the head during a confrontation inside the Times Square subway station.
The attack happened at approximately 9:20 a.m. Aug. 10 while the 35-year-old victim was standing on the northbound platform at the 42nd Street-Times Square station, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers.
Police said an unidentified person became involved in a verbal dispute with the victim. The argument turned physical, and investigators say the suspect produced a sharp object and stabbed the man in the head.
Morning Argument Turns Violent at Times Square Station
The assault happened within the NYPD’s 14th Precinct, which covers the Midtown South area and some of Manhattan’s busiest tourist corridors.
EMS responded to the subway station and treated the victim at the scene. Police did not provide additional information about the extent of his injury or say whether he was later taken to a hospital.
