TOMS RIVER, NJ – Police are investigating today after the body of a woman was found floating in the water near the Mathis Bridge. At approximately 11:28 AM police units were dispatched to the south side of the Mathis Bridge for reports of a body floating in the water. The female victim was found to be deceased upon police arrival. The Ocean County Sheriff Department CSI Unit, NJ State Police Marine Unit, and Ocean County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
