Howell police help Meals on Wheels dig out senior for a successful dinner delivery

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ – With over a foot of snow across Howell, Meals on Wheels was intent on delivering to all of their customers in Howell Township this weekend. When the delivery came to one senior’s home with a long driveway that had not yet been shoveled, the Howell Township Police Department stepped in to help.

“When Meals on Wheels couldn’t make a delivery to one of our seniors because the long driveway wasn’t plowed they contacted us. Officer Jesse Moore arrived on scene,” the Howell Police Department said today. “He contacted our Director of Senior Services Melanie Decker. Melanie contacted PAL Director Chris Hill for volunteers. Lt . Markulic grabbed two shovels from headquarters and headed over. Together, Officer Moore, Lt. Markulic, Chris Hill and Rob Carman shoveled the entire driveway and walkway allowing for the delivery.”

Chief Andrew Kudrick said this level of service from his officers is what makes Howell a great place to live.

“This is how our community comes together for each other. This is what separates us from all other communities,” Chief Kudrick said.
