MEDFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man from Medford Township has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison for fatally shooting a 64-year-old Pemberton Township resident outside the victim’s home three years ago. Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced the sentencing of Tristan Majeed on Thursday.

Majeed, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to Aggravated Manslaughter (First Degree), must serve 17 years of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

The investigation found that Majeed shot Kenneth Ryan on January 20, 2020, outside Ryan’s residence on Apache Trail in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township.

Ryan was taken to nearby Capital Health at Deborah-Emergency Services before being transferred to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he died two days later. The autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood revealed that the victim died from being shot in the head.

The investigation further revealed that the shooting happened after a dispute over money. The case was prosecuted by BCPO Assistant Prosecutor Rachel M. Conte and investigated by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Pemberton Twp. Police Department. The lead investigators were BCPO Detective Sergeant Brian Miller, BCPO Detective Sergeant Tim Horne, and Pemberton Township Acting Police Chief Jay Luis.
