New York State Trooper shot during routine traffic stop

A New York State Trooper was shot while conducting a traffic stop on I-88 Friday morning.

Trooper Richard Albert of the New York State Police sustained a gunshot wound to the arm yesterday morning while conducting a traffic stop on I-88. The vehicle he had pulled over was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

A still image captured from Trooper Albert’s body camera depicts the precise moment when he was shot while approaching the vehicle.

Following medical treatment, Trooper Albert has since been discharged from the hospital.
