100-Year-OId Woman Killed in Lodi Apartment Fire

Lodi, NJ – In a heartbreaking incident on Friday, a fire at an apartment on Rennie Place claimed the life of 100-year-old Judy Reifel. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has provided updated information regarding this devastating incident.

At approximately 8:02 a.m. on that fateful morning, the Lodi Police Department received a fire alarm call from an apartment on Rennie Place. First responders rushed to the scene, where they discovered Judy Reifel in an unconscious and critical condition. She was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, but tragically succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fire.

The investigation into this unfortunate incident is being led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Lodi Police Department, led by Chief Donald Scorzetti.

A preliminary investigation has indicated that the fire was accidental and, at this stage, does not appear to be suspicious. Prosecutor Musella expressed his gratitude to the Lodi Police Department, the Lodi Volunteer Fire Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their invaluable assistance in the ongoing investigation.
