by Leo Canega

DELHI TOWNSHIP, OH – A man has died following a shooting inside a smoke shop on Delhi Road, as reported by Police Chief Jeff Braun.

Responding to a disturbance call around 1 a.m., officers discovered a shattered front door and a deceased male inside.

According to a press release from Delhi police, an employee of the shop shot the intruder in what appears to be a case of self-defense. Multiple 911 calls were made regarding the incident, with one mentioning a woman’s scream and another being from the shop owner confirming that his employee was the one who fired the shot.

Details remain scant regarding potential suspects. However, police are on the lookout for a silver Kia Rio, bearing an Ohio license plate JTJ 1115, believed to have been in the vicinity during the incident.

Although connections to other crimes are being explored, Chief Braun reassures that the shooting seems to be an isolated event, posing no threat to the community.
