Good Samaritan Assisting Broken Down Driver Struck and Killed by Hit and Run Driver

HARRISBURG, PA – A pedestrian incident on Wednesday, December 6, has resulted in a fatality.

The Harrisburg Police Department reported that around 8:15 pm, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of South Cameron and Paxton Streets.

The victim, who was attempting to assist a broken-down vehicle at the time, sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The involved vehicle, which initially fled the scene, has since been located along with the driver. Harrisburg Police’s Traffic Safety Unit is actively conducting a follow-up investigation into this matter.

The police are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist by contacting the Harrisburg Police Bureau at 717-558-6900 or via the CRIMEWATCH website. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
