NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in finding 15-year-old Karla Lopez of Orange, who has been missing since March 24, 2024. Karla was last seen leaving a restaurant on Ferry Street near Congress Street in Newark after a disagreement with a family member.
Karla is described as being 5’6” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a distinctive appearance that includes a black vest, gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and white Jordan sneakers. Known to frequent areas of Stuyvesant Avenue near South Orange Avenue, and Bruen Avenue near Springfield Avenue in Irvington, she has been noted as a frequent runaway.
Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has issued a plea for anyone with information on Karla’s whereabouts to come forward. The Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line, 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477), is available for confidential tips, which may also be eligible for a reward. The community’s cooperation is critical in ensuring Karla’s safe return.
