“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the senseless act of violence that took place in Texas. The Aberdeen Township Police Department is committed to serving it’s community. We, along with representatives of the Matawan Borough Police Department, spoke with officials from the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District. We discussed the tragic events, and how we will continue to maintain a high profile presence at each of the schools. While we do not have and specific threat to our schools, the safety of the students in the district remains a top priority for both of our agencies,” Chief Llyod said in a statement. “Please remember and remind your children, if you see something suspicious, to report it immediately. Please keep your thoughts with the families, friends, students, staff and first responders who responded to, witnessed, and will live with this horrific tragedy forever.”
