Annapolis Police Blotter Heres Whats Happening

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Annapolis Police Department has reported several recent incidents involving theft, burglary, and fraud across various neighborhoods in the city.

On Tuesday, a burglary occurred in the 200 block of Melvin Avenue around 10:23 a.m. A couple discovered that their rear door had been tampered with while they were sitting by their pool. There were no immediate details on any stolen property.

In a separate incident on the same day, a woman fell victim to a fraudulent apartment rental scheme in the 100 block of Prince Georges Street. The victim made multiple payments through a third party but became suspicious when her move-in date was delayed. After requesting proof of ownership, she discovered that the documents provided were falsified. The total loss was estimated at $2,982.06.

Additionally, a bicycle theft was reported in the unit block of Lafayette Avenue. The victim stated that he had left his bike unsecured on his porch at midnight on September 3, and it was missing when he returned at 3:15 p.m. The bicycle was valued at $800.

On Monday, two incidents of theft occurred on Forest Drive. At around 8:45 p.m., a man was seen stealing roses from the Safeway grocery store. Approximately one hour later, a 7-Eleven employee reported that a man had been stealing bags of candy during multiple visits. The total loss from the candy theft remains unknown.
