Off-duty NYPD cop arrested in the Bronx on DWI charges

BRONX, N.Y. — An off-duty New York City police officer was arrested early Wednesday morning in the Bronx on multiple charges related to driving under the influence, according to authorities.

Xiomara Goodsell, a 32-year-old officer with the NYPD, was taken into custody at approximately 1:47 a.m. within the 41st Precinct. Officials stated that she was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and driving while ability impaired (DWAI), in addition to refusing to take a breath test.

The circumstances leading to Goodsell’s arrest were not immediately clear, but law enforcement sources confirmed the incident took place while she was off duty. The NYPD has not yet commented on the arrest or potential disciplinary actions.

Goodsell’s status with the department remains unchanged at this time. The case is under investigation.
