PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A predawn home invasion and abduction early Saturday triggered a sprawling police response across multiple neighborhoods after armed suspects stormed a home on the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue and later clashed with officers in South Philadelphia.
According to preliminary reports, the victims had just returned home when several armed individuals forced their way inside, restrained the family, and stole valuables before abducting two relatives at gunpoint. The victims were taken to another location, where the suspects inflicted physical harm before police intervened.
Authorities said the situation escalated when officers encountered the suspects on the 2000 block of Albright Street. During the confrontation, one officer discharged his firearm, though no one was struck. The armed suspects then fled on foot and remain at large.
Both abducted victims were rescued and treated for injuries sustained during the ordeal. Investigators from multiple police units are now working to identify and locate the offenders.
Police described the ongoing case as “active and fluid,” urging anyone with information to contact detectives immediately.
