Atlantic City Drug Dealer Busted in Major Raid

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The Atlantic City Police Department is calling for public assistance in locating Joel Snyder, 45, of Atlantic City, who is wanted on multiple narcotics and weapons charges following a significant law enforcement operation.

On August 7, 2024, after concluding a two-month investigation, officers from the Special Investigations Section, with support from the SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 1500 block of Beach Avenue. The raid led to the arrest of Wilbert Deberry Jr., 53, also from Atlantic City, and the issuance of an arrest warrant for Snyder.

Authorities discovered four handguns, over 15 pounds of marijuana, 23 grams of cocaine, and various items of narcotic paraphernalia used for manufacturing and distributing narcotics during the search of the residence and an associated vehicle. One of the handguns had been reported stolen in North Carolina.

Charges against Joel Snyder include:

  • Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) (two counts)
  • Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts)
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon (three counts)
  • Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense
  • Certain persons not to possess a weapon
  • Money laundering
  • Maintaining a CDS production facility
  • Possession of CDS paraphernalia
  • Possession of a large capacity magazine
  • Receiving stolen property

Wilbert Deberry Jr.’s charges include:

  • Possession of CDS (two counts)
  • Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts)
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense
  • Certain persons not to possess a weapon
  • Money laundering
  • Maintaining a CDS production facility
  • Possession of CDS paraphernalia
  • Possession of hollow-point ammunition

Following his arrest, Deberry was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Detective James Barrett led the investigation that resulted in these charges. The Atlantic City Police Department is urging anyone with information on Joel Snyder’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in his capture and help bring closure to this case.
