Atlantic City to Host “War at the Shore” Powerboat Race

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA) announces the return of offshore powerboat racing to Atlantic City with the OPA National Championship Series “Atlantic City War at the Shore.” Scheduled for Sunday, June 23, the event promises high-speed action and is presented by Ocean Casino Resort.

This year’s race will see high-powered boats slicing through Atlantic waters, showcasing top international teams vying for speed and glory. The Ocean Casino Resort offers prime viewing locations for the spectacle, which is expected to draw large crowds from 10 am to 5 pm.

In partnership with Visit Atlantic City, the Atlantic City Sports Commission, Golden Nugget, and other local businesses, the OPA is set to deliver the most anticipated offshore racing event of the year. The event lineup includes races, vendor villages, and exclusive parties throughout the weekend.

Starting on Friday, June 21, the festivities kick off with a public Race & Vendor Village at Golden Nugget Lot A, followed by a VIP party and an after-party at the same location. The excitement continues with various public events on Saturday, including the Speed Garvey Race and a meet and greet with racers.

The main event on Sunday will be accompanied by ongoing public access to the Race & Vendor Village and will culminate in an awards ceremony at the Ocean Casino Resort “Top Golf.” This event not only highlights the sport but also showcases Atlantic City’s appeal as a premier coastal destination.

Nick Smith, Vice President of the OPA, and Bill Callahan, General Manager of Ocean Casino Resort, express their enthusiasm for bringing high-stakes powerboat racing back to Atlantic City, emphasizing the event’s potential to attract tourists and highlight the city’s vibrant offerings.
