Atlantic county prosecutor’s office welcomes first official chaplain

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ – The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office held a Swearing-In ceremony on September 28th to welcome its first assigned chaplain, Pastor Lou Strugala.

Chaplain Strugala is the Founding Pastor of Church By The Bay in Galloway, established in July 2019. He has a long-standing relationship with the New Jersey State Police and has participated in various community service efforts including food and clothing drives.

According to his oath, Chaplain Strugala commits to providing “comfort and spiritual support” to all members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office without any form of bias. The role of the chaplain is significant for the county’s law enforcement as they often face high-stress situations. Chaplain Strugala will be available to help staff cope with these challenges and provide a safe space for comfort and solace.

Strugala has collaborated with the Prosecutor’s Office for additional events aiming to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the faith-based community. He was instrumental in organizing ACPO’s first Interfaith Prayer Luncheon at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Careme’s Restaurant earlier this year. Plans are underway for a similar event this winter to continue outreach with faith-based organizations.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office officially welcomes Chaplain Strugala and anticipates the positive impact he will have on the organization.
