BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the assault of a 74-year-old man, who later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

The assault, which authorities have not yet detailed in full, has now turned into a homicide investigation following the victim’s death. Police have released photos of the suspect, hoping that someone in the community will recognize the individual and provide information that could lead to an arrest.

“Investigators are diligently working to identify the person responsible for this tragic event,” the Baltimore Police Department said in a statement. “We are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in this investigation.”

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity is encouraged to contact Baltimore Police investigators at 410-396-2100. Additionally, tips can be submitted anonymously to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LockUp.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the assault or the identity of the victim, pending notification of family members. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to search for leads.
