TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Toms River Democrats waited until the last minute to announce their full slate of candidates in the November election and today, we’re learning why. A late filing hinders opposition research on campaign opponents.
At this time, a detailed report is not available but an initial check into candidates on the Democrat candidates has found extremely unsettling results for residents of Toms River.
Among the four candidates, we have found one bankruptcy, multiple judgments for unpaid bills, criminal records, and a bias and intimidation lawsuit.
At this point, the Democrat slate for office in Toms River is more reminiscent of a police line-up or courtroom docket than a political ticket.
One candidate running for office has a criminal rap sheet that involves multiple charges of theft, harassment, assault, identity theft and writing bad checks. Another candidate was named in a lawsuit involving racial slurs and harassment while working as a principal for a local private Catholic school.
Another high-profile candidate has filed for bankruptcy, yet claims he is ready to lead Toms River.
A third candidate has multiple financial judgments and lawsuits for unpaid bills, one case was filed this week regarding unpaid credit card bills. The candidate was most recently served on September 5th.
Three council candidates each have a bias and intimidation issue to contend with as one was sued for racial intimidation while serving as a school principal. Another has made several public comments about the LGBTQ community while another social media post on a third candidate was criticized for using the ‘n-word’, a racial slur.
